The Road to Freedom

All Star is dedicated to supporting teens throughout their entire driver's license journey. From classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to obtaining a learner's permit and passing the road test, we are here to provide the resources and support necessary to succeed.

Students become eligible at 15 years and 5 months old. The program includes 24 hours of classroom or online instruction, and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Behind-the-wheel training will be scheduled after completing either the classroom or online training and obtaining an instruction permit.

At the age of 15 years and 6 months old, students become eligible for the TIPIC, which is a required document to begin behind-the-wheel training. To apply for a TIPIC you will need:
  • Proof of identity documentation
  • Permit Fee
  • Parent authorization
  • Knowledge and vision screening
  • TIPIC Restrictions for Minors documentation.

Online students have 180 days to complete the online course and an additional 180 days to finish behind-the-wheel instruction. Meanwhile, in-person students are granted 180 days to complete both classroom sessions and behind-the-wheel training. Eight hours of behind-the-wheel instruction is required. Additional training is available if needed. When program requirements are met, a Certificate of Completion is emailed to the student.

Upon receiving a Certificate of Completion, students must complete 50 hours of supervised practice driving with a parent or guardian, including 10 hours at night. The student must obtain a Fifty Hour Affidavit notarized and signed by their parent or guardian to obtain their license. **Behind-the-wheel instruction, which is part of Driver Education, cannot be counted as part of a student’s practice driving hours.**

Students are eligible to attempt the Driving and Skills test at the age of 16 years old, after holding a TIPIC for six months and completing the Fifty Hour Affidavit. Information about Driving and Skills Testing. Requirements on road test day:
